I start by saying thanks to Len for his kind words, but it really is a team effort, of which he is still a great part. Indeed, what are we to make of things? have just read in Old Glory magazine that SS Manx Mann has been turned down by the lottery, sighting a number of problems with thier bid. Maybe some have a basis in fact, others I have doubts. Ironically, on thier web-site there is a link to the HLF site, and a section trumpeting how they have supported maritime heritage, true a number of projects have been helped, but ships like ours are still hanging in the wind. On the same site, details of a PROPOSED awared of some 20 million to an historic house, which has already had 17 million from a fund called the National Memorial Fund, set up before the lottery, as a memorial to those who fell in war to protect our country I believe, and is described as a fund of last resort to save things at the last minuet I guess. Also details of money to a painting, OK I have nothing against art or houses, but the old cliche of a level playing field would be nice. However, as I have said before, failure is gauranteed if we give up, success maybe if we continue! All the best,
