Yes I agree to some extent with previous comments. But I also say that we have to remain positive. The National Historic Ships Unit is a fair first step in the right direction and is likely to be a slight improvement on what came before. What we need to campaign for is further improvements.

By the way just to let you know that the Ryde and Medway Queen and others have not been forgotten on our Maritime Britain website(www.maritimebritain.org.uk) they both still are listed prominently in our Historic Ships Needing Your Help section. So we are doing all we can to help. We are also hoping that the National Historic Ships Unit will take on much of the comments we have aired on our Maritime Britain website and indeed the Unit and the existing Historic Ships Committee have shown very considerable interest in our website.

Our view is that things take time to improve and evolve and any small step forward in the right direction is better than none or going backwards!
