as you say id of though after the cost of towage and cost of cutting her up there would be very little if any profit to be made. i think the rough value of scrap over here is only about £30 - £40 a tonne.
using her gross weight i did some rough calculations and using £30 a tonne for my reckoning, the scrap value of weight doesnt even cover the cost of buying the southsea at the price of in excess of £30,000 they say on the southsea web site.
the main sadness for me is that there doesnt appear to of been any determination in the attitude of any british person, apart from those who have ben working on her, to attempt to make a business of the southsea, yes she did need some works to her upper decks but surely with a reasonable ammount of investment she would of made a viable business as say a restaurant or cafe at the very least.
